Synopsis
Romeo and Juliet is the classic tragedy of western literature. Created by William Shakespeare, it is tale of two very young lovers from Verona, Italy who defy the wishes of their feuding families, get married then, and tragically, end their own lives in the name of love. It is their deaths that ultimately help the rival families of the Capulet's and Montague's find reconciliation.
My Review
This graphic novel was brilliant. I wish this book was around when I was at school as I would of understood the book so much better than I did. I just loved how easy it was to read and understand with brilliant pictures connected with the old English words of William Shakespeare. It makes it so much easier to understand the contect the morals and means of his words. This is why I really believe this book should be read in all schools or it could be a handy book to have open as you read the full text as Shakespeare wrote. The pictures were just so expressive making the story so much more powerful to read . It aided the intake of the old English language. I recommend this book for children and adults alike as you can really learn from reading it and it's more of a fun and very enjoyable medium. I just couldn't put this novel down and had to read it in one sitting. I really do look forward to reading more classics through graphic novels.
So much praise goes to the creators and publishers for bringing such powerful story to life. Also creating such a wonderful supportive reflection of a literary masterpiece.
